His world revolves around a doting mother, a passion for music and the memories of a childhood friend, Sameer, who left Goa for Mumbai many years ago and hasn’t replied to his frequent letters ever since.

Pinto’s talent for music is only matched by his knack for finding trouble in the unlikeliest of places often resulting in the most outlandish and hilarious situations. When Pinto’s idyllic world is shattered by the sudden demise of his mother he decides to head to Mumbai in search of the only friend he knows.

Will Pinto find Sameer or will trouble find him first? Will Pinto and his crazy antics survive the big bad city or more importantly, will Mumbai survive a phenomenon called Pinto?

One day Pinto’s mother dies and he sets out for Mumbai to find his childhood friend Sameer.

Now, the grand city of Mumbai and great antics of Pinto are about to encounter each other. Only the release of ‘My Friend Pinto’ will declare the name of the winner. 

Prateik Babbar is playing the role of sweet and innocent Pinto in the film directed by Raghav Dar.

Quite often called as the dark horse of the Hindi film industry, Prateik Babbar was last seen in Prakash Jha’s ‘Aarakshan’, where he had played the role of an upper caste student who does not get a seat in the institution of his choice due to the reservation policy of the government. 

Prior to ‘Aarakshan’, Babbar had donned the character of Munna in Aamir Khan Productions’ ‘Dhobi Ghat’. Babbar had impressed the critics as well as the common movie goers by his portrayal of a wannabe film star Munna who actually provides laundry service for a living. 

Prateik is not new for the Goa set up also. He has already acted as a Goan boy Lorry in Rohan Sippy’s ‘Dum Maaro Dum’. 

After his debut in ‘Jane Tu Ya Jane Na’, Prateik Babbar has emerged as an actor who can fulfil the place left vacant by Shahid Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan. These actors are no more suitable for the roles belonging to the age group of 19-23 years. Thus, Babbar along with Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor is among the prominent actors to fit in the roles that showcase college going guys. 

Kalki Koechlin is also going to be seen in ‘My Friend Pinto’. Her last film ‘That Girl in Yellow Boots’ has not done well at the box office and thus she will be itching for a commercially successful film.
