 BREAKAWAY, is a cross-cultural hockey drama set in the Indo-Canadian community of Toronto, Canada, directed by Robert Lieberman. The movie revolves around a young Indian ice hockey player, played by promising debutant Vinay Virmani caught between family's traditional expectations and a dream to make it in the national sport of his adopted country.

BREAKAWAY also had the honour to premiere at the prestigious TIFF on 10th September 2011, a day after Akshay Kumar's birthday. Akshay Kumar's Production house Hari Om Entertainment co-produces the movie along with First Take Entertainment and Alliance Films
