The warm and loud 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' is surprisingly a larger than life, fun filled, romantic comedy that has all the hues of a zesty cotton candy formula.
Ali Abbas Zafar, the debutant director of this conventional love story, starring Imran- Katrina –Ali Zafar, was apparently inspired by the matrimonial advertisements in newspapers, as the film revolves around a young brother diligently looking for an ideal bride for his elder brother. This is the first time that Imran and Katrina have shared screen space and the audiences have been looking forward to seeing them on screen. Recently the actress confessed that MBKD has all the essence of Dharmendra-Amitabh’s Chupke Chupke with the spirit of the present day generation. Cast and Crew Presented by Yash Raj Films, ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ produced by Aditya Chopra is a largely fun filled film with love and emotions interspersed with genuine moments. Shot in Delhi, Chandigarh, Agra, Mussoorie, Haridwar, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' features Tara D’Souza and Kanwaljit Singh in pivotal supporting roles. John Abraham would be seen in a surprising cameo making a friendly appearance in the film. The story and screenplay of MBKD has been constructed by director Ali Abbas Zafar, while the cinematography has been rendered by Sudeep Chatterjee. Sohail Sen has composed the high, thumping and peppy music of MBKD and the lyrics have been penned by Irshad Kamil. Incidentally Pakistani singer and MBKD actor Ali Zafar has sung ‘Madhubala’ in the movie with genuine flair. Synopsis The story spins on the axis of two brothers Luv Agnihotri (Ali Zafar) and Kush Agnihotri (Imran Khan). From an urban middle class family the elder brother, an investment banker by profession lives in London, while Kush works as a film assistant. Luv after having had a string of love affairs finally decides to settle down with an ideal Indian girl. Incidentally Kush has been assigned the task of finding a perfect bride for his elder brother. And in the midst of his search he encounters zany girl Dimple Dixit (Katrina Kaif), who is also from London. During the course of time, Kush apparently falls in love with his brother’s bride even as marriage celebrations for his brother's impending wedding are in full swing. Will Kush be able to confess his love to Dimple is what follows in MBKD and from here begins the film’s journey, filled with funny twists and incidents. Certainly worth a watch.
